Prominent members of the economic, business, political, social and cultural spheres in the region were present at the “Sociedad Bilbaína” for this event, which was held on June 13th, 2023.
RFK Human Rights Spain Foundation introduces its human rights education program in Basque Country Speak Truth to Power with which it promotes the approach to a comprehensive education in Human Rights for young people in the Basque Country.
This event was hosted by the president of RFK Human Rights Spain, Dr. María Díaz de la Cebosa, who together with the president of the 21st Century Women’s Association (Asociación Mujer Siglo XXI), Carmen Miral, welcomed a large representation of prominent individuals from the educational, business, political, social, and cultural spheres of the Basque Country.
The presentation event of the educational program was attended by the Minister of Health, Gotzone Sagarduy; the First Deputy Mayor of Bilbao, Amaia Arregi, the Councilor for Development, Xavier Ochandiano, and the Dean of Law at the University of Deusto, Gema Tomás, among others. In addition, the ceremony included an analysis of one of the most influential activists found in the Speak Truth to Power program , Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai.
A theoretical speech created in the style of Robert F. Kennedy generated using artificial intelligence GPT-4), was also read to all attendees in real time. The focus included instances of modern-day violence, and the polarization that currently affect many of our interactions online and in person. The values advanced by Robert Kennedy in the 1960s remain as relevant as ever, and his legacy persists as the cornerstone of the Speak Truth to Power human rights education program.
After the presentation and subsequent discussion, guests were invited to a neighboring hall for drinks and tapas, where attendees were invited to mingle and exchange impressions with each other and members of RFK Spain.
