The President of the RFK Human Rights Spain, María Díaz de la Cebosa, hosted Kerry Kennedy, global President of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, at CIS University.

Students from Brains International School, Aravaca International School and St. Anne’s School, as well as students from CIS University who all participate in RFK Human Rights Speak Truth To Power program, participated in the lecture.

Also in attendance were students from the Go American English program, sponsored by the International Studies Foundation jointly with the US Embassy in Madrid, and a group of displaced Ukrainian families who are fully supported by the NGO “Cruzada por los Niños” (or Crusade for the Children).

Kerry Kennedy discussed her more than 40 years of political activism and fight for Human Rights in countries as diverse as South Africa, Vietnam or Mexico. In this master class of sorts, the president of Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights helped students to explore the characteristics that the great social leaders of history had in common, and encouraged the audience to initiate individual action that can build up and effect change in our communities and around the world: “Being angry isn’t necessarily bad, but you must use that anger correctly and for good. Make a decision and stand up to defend the truth.”
